Elgin Franklin

The Elgin Franklin fields operated by Total UK Ltd are two adjacent gas condensate fields located in the Central Graben Area of the North Sea approximately 130 miles east of Aberdeen and is the largest high pressure high temperature development in the world. A 34” Dia 468 KM long pipeline (SEAL) exports the gas from the Elgin Franklin & Shell Shearwater developments to the SEAL terminal in Bacton. Due to the extreme reservoir conditions the most stringent of specifications were applied to this field.

LFF utilised the knowledge and experience gained from the Shell Shearwater Project and carried it over to the Elgin Franklin development and in 2005 successfully tendered for the supply of specialised heavy wall forged pipe, fittings & bends for the flowlines with further orders for the same items being received on an ongoing basis throughout the period 2006 – 2008.
